FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL — JM ADVANCEMENT
John McVay is a business owner, financial advisor, and strategic leader dedicated to helping businesses build strong financial foundations and achieve long-term success.
As the founder of JM Advancement Business Services, John works alongside business owners to provide financial clarity, improve systems and processes, and guide strategic decision-making. His approach combines financial insight with practical business leadership to help clients grow profitably and achieve real business wins.
John believes successful businesses are built step-by-step through strong foundations, accurate financials, operational discipline, and continuous improvement. This philosophy became the basis for the JM Advancement Financial Building Blocks™ framework, which guides businesses from organized back-office operations to strategic growth and expansion.
Unlike many advisors, John brings real-world operating experience to his work. In addition to leading JM Advancement, he owns and operates multiple businesses in a variety of industries. This hands-on experience gives him practical insight into the challenges business owners face every day, including cash flow management, hiring decisions, profitability, growth planning, and operational leadership.
John is also deeply committed to serving the community and supporting organizations that make a positive impact. He currently serves as Treasurer for several nonprofit organizations in the Omaha area and values leadership grounded in integrity, ethics, teamwork, and long-term relationships.
